What's Not To Love About Chanel

I'm strict when it comes to my black nail polish! It's the only color that i allow to grace my nails; its apart of my signature style. Something else I'm strict about.. my makeup. I love many different brands once of which is Chanel. Chanel makeup is one of my faves that I continue to fall in love with!

Motherhood

From the moment you feel movement, you feel life growing inside along with anticipation, fear and joy. Scared of abnormalities because life will never be the same. Will you be able to cope? Will you be good at it?

For me being a mother prepared me to be able to embrace all the abnormalities of life that came around every corner when least expected.  How do we cope? FAITH! Motherhood prepares you internally for all the unexpected curves.  An inner strength comes from within due to raising children. Our hardest curve is when we have to let go so that our children can spread their wings and learn to fly alone. We must!

I give thanks for the privilege of being able to embrace raising my sons..  Lucky to be able to have had the strength to take a step back to watch them fall and pick themselves up and learn.  As young men they are still falling and still gathering.  Life is a lesson and I ask the universe to help them to learn, to forgive, show kindness, always show compassion for those less fortunate, embrace joy, and lead from their heart.  With these tools they might make it.

Universal Sadness by Tracey Magill

When we are in unbearable sadness, emotional pain, suffering and in our darkest hour try not to despair and hold on
For those of us who are open spiritually we are experiencing pain of all those we love and feel compassion for at the same time
It is not all our own suffering
Unknowingly, we take it on because our hearts are always open to give and receive
So try to understand the pain and accept it as universal Sadness
Feel it like the wind on your face
Let it flow through you
And you will heal.

Yul Brynner

A quote surfaced from my subconscious just recently, and it came about while reading about Yul Brynner, whom I adored as a child.  I remember I would rush home from school to watch him in The King and I.  He became a Buddhist and would give his daughter advice on heartache.  He said he did not believe in ruminating. He beleieved that thoughts don't last that long and if it does, you're making it last longer than you should.
I remembered this from spending time with Dandapani my guru. It became buried because I wobbled off my path.

The Greatest Voice of All Time!

Whitney Houston, the multimillion-selling singer who emerged in the 1980s as one of her generation’s greatest R & B voices, died on Saturday in Beverly Hills, Calif. She was 48. Her death came as the music industry descended on Los Angeles for the annual celebration of the Grammy Awards, and Ms. Houston was one of its queens. She was staying at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday to attend a pre-Grammy party being hosted by Clive Davis, the founder of Arista Records, who had been her pop mentor.
Whitney Houston was born on Aug. 9, 1963, in Newark. She sang in church, and as a teenager in the 1970s and early 1980s, she worked as a backup studio singer. Clive Davis signed her after hearing her perform in a New York City nightclub, and spent two years supervising production of the album “Whitney Houston,” which was released in 1985. From the start of her career , Ms. Houston had the talent, looks and pedigree of a pop superstar. She was the daughter of Cissy Houston, a gospel and pop singer who had backed up Aretha Franklin, the cousin of Dionne Warwick. (Ms. Franklin is Ms. Houston's godmother.) Ms. Houston’s range spanned three octaves, and her voice was plush, vibrant and often spectacular. She could pour on the exuberant flourishes of gospel or peal a simple pop chorus; she could sing sweetly or unleash a sultry rasp.
All of Ms. Houston’s studio albums were million-sellers, and two have sold more than 10 million copies in the United States alone: her 1985 debut album and the 1992 soundtrack to “The Bodyguard,” which includes “I Will Always Love You.” Besides her daughter Bobbi Kristina, now 18, Ms. Houston is survived by her mother.

Whitney has won 38 awards including (but not limited to) 5 Grammys, 17 American Music Awards, 5 Billboard Awards, and, 7 Soul Train Music Awards.

Audrey Hepburn

It was so easy for me to step into the Audrey role. I felt her presence at every moment; her integrity sensitivity, intelligence and kindness were always at the forefront of every take. I felt her close at all times during the photoshoot. As the shoot came to a close, I felt a quietness and peacefulness.  The transformation was effortless for me.

Honey Bee Mine!

Honey is the beginning of my day. It starts with my tea, goes into my oatmeal, within my Bee Propolis, and it ends in my bath and my night mask.

Be Bold!

Model and actress, Mini Anden for Harper's Bazaar Turkey February 2012 issue.
Photographer Koray Birand

Photographer Troy Jensen

I'm more of a smokey eye girl, but I felt very gothic with this deep lip. I felt very dark and a bit medieval, but I embraced it. It was a complete change from my normal pale pink lip. A deep glossy lip brings out the dark, sultry side of my personality that exist within. I'm wearing Dior's Rouge Lipcolor in Hypnotic Red with a bit of Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Black-Tie Plum. It looks deep and sexy, I like to wear it more sheer than Troy applied it. I dab a little on my lips and pat with my fingertips for a sheer wash of color.

Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl: My First Commercial!!

My first commercial was invigorating! It felt so natural to be in front of the camera.  I'm featured with makeup artist Troy Jensen, he and everyone with Benefit were so encouraging and positive. They made my whole experience fulfilling. I didn't want the day to end! I felt like the  English diva that I was cast to play; it was easy to step into that role. I had a blast! Since the commercial I've fallen in love with Girl Meets Pearl. I use it everyday to lift my cheekbones. I use it under and over my makeup.

Wishing Everyone Happy Holidays!

What better way to kick off my blog than on Christmas Day! I spent the day with close friends, family and my frenchie pups, Mylo and Darla. I indulged in ice cream and churro's on the beach. Then returned home to prepare my fabulous turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I indulged in my friend Jarek Addison's Mom's home made holiday confections. The day was fun and relaxing, decorating the tree and cooking Christmas dinner.  Cocktails and movies topped off the evening..  I'd like to wish everyone Happy Holidays. Be good or be good at it...xo T
